Performance: Sonics:
The Eudora label was new to me and judging by the quality of this guitar recording I will be purchasing new product from this Company.
If you're a fan of acoustic guitar played classically you might want to give this disc a listen. Its not closely miked like some recordings but it has a definite character to the sound. The reverb is controlled as well. This pure Dsd recording was recorded at a sampling rate of 11 million samples per second and down converted to the traditional Dsd rate. I believe this does impart a beneficial characteristic to the overall sound. The idea being that some of the flavor and character of the higher resolution capture can be imparted to the down sampled product. There is a slightly more coherence and stability to the overall sound and especially when the playing has more dexterity and speed to it. It very easy to get lost in this performance as the sound is excellent in every way. The playing is likewise good.
I am also grateful for the very transparent and detailed liner notes which highlights very specifically and exactly how the recording was done. This is somewhat rare and should be common practice. Kudos to Eudora for this.
Highly recommended. A terrific acoustic guitar recording in pure Dsd. Also has a multi channel portion.
