Reviews: Hiromi Uehara - The Trio Project "Move"

Performance:   Sonics:
As sort of a companion review to Marpow's Hiromi's Another Mind review, I offer a true DSD recording released on Universal's SHM~SACD format by piano virtuoso Hiromi with a stellar line~up of Anthony Jackson on contrabass guitar and the great Simon Philips on Drums.

Since I have ALL of Hiromi's multichannel Telarc SACD recordings, I came to this stereo only album with some trepidation but my worries were allayed as the dynamic Opening track MOVE filled my room with the quality one would expect from the ever~evolving pianist.

This is one dynamic trio and the generous 69:21 timing from this SHM~SACD emmitted one sonic delight after another.

If one has any doubts about Ms Hiromi's pianistic abilities look no further than the awesome closing track 11:49 PM.

MOVE is a total delight both creatively and sonically from start to finish.

And Michael Bishop of Five/Four Productions also continues to astound with his recording prowness.

the four Telarc SHM~SACD releases (3 Hiromi, one Stanley Clark Band w/Hiromi), unfortunately, come packaged in standard RBCD jewel cases with the requisite obi strips but don't let that deter you from experiencing some of the VERY best sounding SHM~SACDs on the planet.
