I'm don't know what to make of this disc.
Presentation is unusual - a DVD sized digipak.
The multi-channel sound makes full use of the rear speakers for ambiance, and a lot of it.
The programme begins with J.S. Bach BWV 564 Toccata, Adagio and Fugue. There seems to be a lot of bass swirling around during the Toccata, and I'm not sure whether it's totally musical. Somehow it seems to degenerate into a jumbled mass of sound. The Adagio is played with rather more decoration than I'm used to. Probably a matter of preference - I'm more at ease with the very much less ornate style used by Peter Hurford on the 1980s Argo CD.
The BOËLLMANN - Suite Gothique op. 25 appeals much more to my taste. I quite like the first three movements. However, the timing in the Toccata is not as I'm used to. Again, a matter of preference.
I'm not familiar with the remaining items in the programme.
I don't want to give a rating. The sound does worry me on just one track. It is good on the remainder. The performance is almost certainly a matter of personal preference.
