While ESP isn't the most listened to record in my Miles collection, how can you go wrong with Wayne Shorter and Herbie Handcock providing the backdrop? I still believe it's an essential title, and the sonic beauty of this disc is amazing. 1965 wasn't a bad year for Miles. A very tight record.

ESP is my favourite record of miles davis.
When i first listened to it, I was completely disapointed by the material, the themes construction.
A few month later, it has become my reference release of miles thru the years.
I've just ordered the sacd version, and I'm eagerly waiting to listen the sonic difference between my standard cd version.....(I'll tell you more when i'll receive it)
Once again ESP is a tremendous jazz record, and my preference goes to "mood" my favourite among all titles available of miles.

Stunning!!!!!!! This is where SACD equals Vinyl.. it is just like the quietest best 200gram pressing you could find. I'd buy an SACD player for just this album, it would be worth it.

I'm giving 5 stars here for the remastering job. This is very close to the vinyl and in the area of background noise is far superior. At times it sounds like a master tape. Ultimately however, the master tape recording is not exceptional - a little dry and compressed. Still, next to a mint original, this is the best version you can buy.
