Performance:   Sonics:
Swedish Chamber Orchestra and Thomas Dausgaard continues their "Opening Doors" Series with Tchaikovsky's Sixth Symphony and Romeo & Juliet Fantasy Overture.
The interpretations are very good in their own ways. I have Mikhail Pletnev's recording with Russia National Orchestra (Pentatone) and Dausgaard's tempi are mostly much quicker than Pletnev's:
I. 17'11 (Dausgaard), 19'14 (Pletnev)
II. 7'43, 7'30
III. 8'38, 8'14
IV. 9'32, 11'29
There aren't nothing special - except the chamber orchestra. The tone is clear and bright. Dausgaard offers a different view to the masterwork. The emotional climaxes are smooth.

Excellent purchase for all Tchaikovsky collectors but there are still many better recordings available.
