Performance: Sonics: |
The tape they are using is bit odd in the way it was mixed. They cymbals, piano, bass and trumpet sound great, but the snare is overly prominent and has been EQed with quite a bit of midrange. I mention this because it really stuck out on first listen.
This record actually presents a good tonal balance. The bass is clearly audible down to the lowest notes without dropping off and Davis's trumpet has the right tonal balance (no crystal wine glasses will shatter upon playback, unlike some other re-issues).
