This makes not really sense for me because the recording was made digital in 1980 in something different then 44,1k (50kHz i guess like the Ry Cooder and Donald Fagen recordings)and less then 16Bit. Maybe a 3m or a Sony digital reel 2 reel was used (aside with the Denon digital recording devices the only present at the market at that time) for recording. These machines worked with stacked 12bit ad converters to reach something comparable to 16bit linear. Now these tapes have been brought back into the analoge world using a really good DA converter as the Esoteric homepage says and then (after a holy treatment) converted into DSD. I think i stay with my original CD from the early 80is because this "first" RBCD is amazing.
