I bought this album over a decade ago... still sounds equally good today... if not better in SACD stereo.
We Are In Love is probably Harry Connick, Jr's commercial peak, which is easy to see why. It's light, with a bit of swing and a couple of romantic melodies to go with... plus just enough serious materials to put him as a serious jazz artist. Have a listen to this album and you'll realised how 'average' John Pizarrelli is and why people bother with Michael Bublé!
For the SACD edition, the improvement is impression... the soundstage has gone deeper, vocals & instruments are well separated and the renditions became much more 3 dimensional even though its in stereo only. It's prominent when the swing band plays with Harry in the title track. If you enjoyed the redbook, get the SACD! Not sure why it's a bit pricy for a stereo SACD, but well worth it!
Hopefully Sony might consider releasing more of Harry Connick Jr stuff on SACD eventhough they didnt sell as much... but are much more confident stuff like Blue/Red Light, 25 & She.
