Warner Music....who has a huge musical library..has jumped on the Shm-Sacd band wagon. However while I am happy about this I am also aware that they are transferring their music to hirez 24/192 first and then recording to Dsd from there.
So essentially we are buying Dvd-Audio discs...again.

However they are a great listen from one reason. No compression used. I own two Warner discs and they both sound awesome. They are surprisingly laid back and non-edgy and soft on the ears. Apparently Universal Japan has mandated certain sonic characteristics on their discs so Warner is following those directives.

Musically this disc is exceelent but very mellow jazz. The entire album is very relaxing with great sax playing by Mr. Washington.

In my opinion these Warnewr discs are very excellent sounding but do not compare or compete with the very best Shm-sacd's that are done from tape to Dsd.

Highly recommended.

Great light Jazz from Grover Washington Jr. One of my favorite late night discs - very mellow!

this disc was mastered from the 24/192 master and you can hear this. there is not as much air as usually associated with SACD. the cymbols do not shimmer in the same way as a really good DSD mastering. That said, it is still a great recording and beats the RB version.

Have anyone noticed that left and right channels are swapped compared to the standard cd version?
The sacd has significantly better sonics than the cd - track 6 sourrounds you completely with soundstage like I had a surround system. My favourtite sacd at this time!
