I must be losing my taste for new music! The Carter is too fragmented for my taste, and the Zimmermann bored the stuffing out of me! I don't have the score, but it sounds as if the orchestra is not attacking and releasing their opening chords in unison in Carter's piece. Another negative element is that it lasts only 39 minutes, but if the potential 80 were filled with additional music as unpleasant/uninteresting as the other pieces, then never mind!
Vogler does a heroic job with what must be a terribly difficult solo part. The sound is superb. My copy will be up for sale on Amazon as soon as it released in the US and I can list it! :-)
