Performance: Sonics:
I was pleasantly surprised by this shm-sacd. While Kiss are not the greatest musicians or songwriters.........at least they tried to be creative with this album.
The sound quality varies but is consistant at least throughout the entire album. And there are several tracks which actually sport very good sound. Detroit rock city sounds particularly effective. Vocals are good if a little grainy at times and the drums tend to be pushed back into the mix on occasions but I must say.........overall...a pretty good mixture of songs and done in fairly good quality.
Any resevations must come from the tapes used. Decent enough but I feel not worth the money.

I bought because this was an album I loved when I was about 10. Of course when I bought it back then it was probably $5 on vinyl. Spending $59 on it? I'm sure a plain CD would of been fine. But this is a solid SACD for anyone with a good system. If you're looking for something to play in the car...just download to buy CD.
