Although not a huge fan of Norwegian music, everything that I have heard from 2L has been superbly well recorded and very intelligent in conception. This disc shows its musical intelligence by successfully alternating 800 year old Gregorian chants with modern percussion pieces written for this disc. I normally do not like such fusion. This effort is superb. The percussion is gentle, meditative. This disc throws a stereo image that is startlingly persuasive, maybe better than anything I have ever heard. I noticed it first in the first percussion interlude and then spent the rest of the session trying and failing to convince myself that the music was coming from my speakers. I have read about speakers disappearing. This was my first actual experience of it.
