Surprised no one else has reviewed this so far! A wonderful stereo-only disc. Lovely 1958 Rudy Van Gelder recording brought back to life by the mastering talents of - you guessed it - Kevin Gray, Steve Hoffman and Gus Skinas.
For Lou Donaldson's first stereo LP (#6), the band is Donaldson (alto sax), Herman Foster (piano), 'Peck' Morrison (bass), Dave Bailey (drums) and Ray Barretto (conga). 6 great hard bop cuts delivered in a wonderful Francis Wolff cover. "Callin' all Cats" is my favorite track here.
The disc pictured has a gold stereo sticker, but the SA-CD I bought in San Francisco does not.
