Nice SACD, both musically and sonically good but nothing to special.

I'm a real Tangerine Dream fan and have been for the past thirty years, so all I really need to say is that I hope Virgin will seriously consider releasing all the other TD albums in their catalogue on SACD!

I will, however, add that I also have two different-sourced CDs and the LP of "Rubycon" and can categorically say that this SACD is the best-sounding of them all, although the vinyl is very close but obviously noisier. There is a wonderful sense of space around the sound here as well as marvellous clarity of texture and it's all very involving.

Strongly recommended to all TD fans and those interested in EM.

Important SACD release. Sonics are excellent and the overall performance (albeit short) is top notch. This is a "clean" electronica album, as opposed to some of TDs other stuff (i.e, no guitars or drums). I just hope there is a chance we'll see some of the rest of their catalogue released on this awesome format also.

Iam a real Tange fan. I never forget the cheap service Virgin Records made in recording many TD classic albuns of the Sound Landscape era, the best TD years for me.
The previous TD album on Virgin, PHAEDRA was so poorly recorded it do not could be released in SACD, by the low quality sound. I have own the vynil in the past and the sound have low dynamic range and transparency. Edgar Froese recorded PHAEDRA again and released it as PHAEDRA 2005 in the TD site, unhappily no SACD, only in low resolution 16bits CD.
The Rubycon regular CD I have yet, have a harsh sound too, this Rubycon SACD release sound is very better, but there is alot of analog tape noise, due the low speed of the analog record.
Virgin used recorder his new artists in a full 3 IPS (three), and in the case of Mike Oldfield/Tubular Bells was used a recycled open reel tape. Certainly Virgin isn't a green company for this manys uses of
analog tapes. Maybe Heavy Metal music do not benefit from audiophile recordings, but this economic class treatment for Prog Rock bands is revolting. I will give three stars in sound for I love the band...
