This 2-disc set boasts "Direct Cut pure DSD," which is supposed to maintain native DSD throughout the entire production process. This disc certainly clearly captures his Fazioli piano--if a bit close and dry...too bad it isn't m-ch. I do hear some damper thumps here and there, however. Bogányi's dreamy interpretations may not suit everyone: he isn't one to let the music speak for itself (I doubt that he leaves a single note or phrased untouched), but I find his playing to be very effective and poetic. Plus, these Nocturnes can withstand a multitude of interpretations and seem to cry out for dreamy "nocturnal" playing.
