If you like Max Reger's chromaticism and dense counterpoint coupled with massive, thunderous organs, then you should like this disc. The audio is 5.1, so there is plenty of action for the subwoofer thanks to the nicely captured 32' pipes. The cathedral has a 4-5 second reverb decay, but the engineer has captured the organ with excellent clarity. Schmeding seems up to the daunting tasks asked of him in the outer two massive works, especially the concluding Toccata and Fugue.
