Highly rated, this is tribute to the karen carpenter by Jeremy Monteiro done in Jazz setting. Love the cover design. Sonic of this disk is audiophile grade with vocal peformance by jacintha. If you are a jazz or capenters fans or audiophiles, this is a must have.

I find this a truly strange one. The musicianship is first rate. Jacintha’s vocals are up to her usually high level of competence and the chosen tune selections are all ones I like.

The problem is I can’t just put this on and sit and listen to it because if I do so I start to nod off. I’m not kidding and I’ve tried a few times. If it’s left on in the background it’s great but I find it a shame to waste all this assembled talent and effort to come up with a “background music” disc.

I guess to sum up IMHO anyway, as an SACD this is one heck of a great sedative!

I find it difficult to rate something like this.

Jeremy Monteiro and his friends play a tribute to The Carpenters; the elder of you will remember…. On A Song For You, This Masquerade, For All We Know and I Won`t Last a Day Without You Jacintha joins with her fascinating vocal contributions that itself make the price of the disc worth it. There`s a Kind of Hush gets its special character by Two for Brazil. The other eight tracks are trios and quartets. The focus lies on the lovely melodies that have been so sweetly interpreted and made to pop hits by The Carpenters. I was not much a fan then, I rather have been a rock-man. Meanwhile it is a pleasure to me to listen with sentiment to this jazz versions of the old hits. They are played perfectly with exciting soloing and I am not able to decide whether it is a pleasure or a pain recalling the old times. However that may be it definitely is a pleasure listening to the perfect sound of the disc for 70 minutes. It is rich of colour, very good soundstage and imaging, air for the instruments and voices to breath, very dynamic, brilliant, every detail audible. This is a very beautiful jazz record in a very beautiful, precious, book-like cover.
