Performance: Sonics: |
Kohsuke Mine soprano & tenor sax Takehiro Honda piano Yoshio Suzuki bass Hiroshi Murakami drums Hideo Miyata flute on Samba De Chico (the last piece)
All compositions by Yoshio Suzuki.
Recorded in 1973.
Booklet in Japanese.
Unlike the newer work by Y.Suzuki (Yoshio Suzuki: Moon and Breeze), this is a real hot be-bop performed with great emotional involvement of all musicians. Comparisons to John Coltrane and McCoy Tyner came to my mind first.
Sound is pretty good and realistic, all instruments are located at reasonable positions.
Enjoyable discovery.
