Reviews: Toya Shigeko with The Imada Masaru Trio

Review by SnaggS June 14, 2007
Performance:   Sonics:
Reference Shefield Labs level soud quality. This applies to every 3 Blind Mice album I've heard. The musicianship is snappy, tight. Now, her voice is great, but her english pronounciation does have a definite accent, this may bother some people. It does bother me on the first, track, but her delivery on "My Funny Valentine" (side 2, song 2).

Packaging is supreme on this series. The best I've seen, with the paper sleves being somewhere between a 7" single and a CD.. probably closer to the 7". I bought the FIM releases of some 3 blind mice albums, and I wish I hadn't and bought these Sony's instead. However, be quick, since some of the titles have sold out after only 2 months. Given the demand in Japan these are genuinly limited editions.

3.5 stars on performance becuause of the accent. However, I'd buy the SACD just for a couple of the tracks anyways. Its just not perfect on every track.
