Reviews: Supreme Jazz: Sarah Vaughan

I like the music in this album...obviously, Sarah Vaughan is one of the greats and it
is easy to see why. But as I expected, the Multi channel work leaves a lot to be desired.
Perhaps this is the best that can be done with older recordings, I am not sure. Overall,
pleasant to listen to, but the SACD treatment hasn't really added much in my opinion.

A sentimental journey is what you get. Not the excellent dynamics possible with SACD, but probably the best they could make from old vinyl or tapes. Great atmosphere, but expect Sarah to shift one octave in every WOOOO, WAAAAA, WIIIIII, WEEEEE, one hour long, which can tire a little if you are from the 70'ies or later like I do.
Then 5.1 remix makes it fill the whole room, but not much more.
