I had low expectations of this disc - but as a former clarinetist and lover of good jazz, I thought I'd give this one a try - relatively inexpensive too. I was surprised. The music is classic Benny Goodman with a nice mix of combo; big band; swing-jazz numbers - most, if not all, of his signature tunes. Membran must have gotten hold of some good masters, because the original sound comes through nicely. It's not as clean as a new MC recording; but the music is really great to listen to, and probably as good as it gets for old recordings. And the musicianship is incomparable.
