Just a quick note to those considering purchasing this - don't; it's really not good enough.
The sound is fairly typical Membran, of the soupy lo-res variety; not exactly one of their better efforts. But it's the performances that rule this one out from serious consideration. They're shamelessly big band; now Colin Davis showed us how to do BB Haydn right, but this recording shows equally clearly how to do it wrong: thick balances, slow tempi and lacking light and shade, as well as wit and surprise. The end-result is thoroughly plodding and soporific. The performances seem to go on for hours - and really not in a good way!
So, waiting for the continuation of Bruno Weill's revelatory series with Cappella Coloniensis (ARS) would be my strong advice here.
