Oh what a delight this disc is of flute and recorder concertos and sonatas by Vivaldi, Mancini, and Barbella. The recording tends to highlight the soloist’s and leave the continuo players a bit in the background, but it seems to come out quite well. The sound of this Arkiv recording is a quite good, and sounds almost like a new recording. It’s certainly one of the better DG recordings.

This SACD brings back an old favorite. I had the old vinyl and this was one of my most endeared recordings. I just colud not believe my luck when I saw this Japan SACD in Tokyo.

I remember reading a review somewhere way back that this is the kind of music that makes you feel glad to be alive - and I fully agree with that. This is simply delightful music. If you are lucky enough to see this recording, just grab it. Too bad that most people in the world are not able to enjoy this disc.

This music would sound good in 8-track, and it sounds glorious in SACD.
