the Belgian based trio Luthomania features artists and lutes from three different parts of the world: 1 musician and lute from Europe (Belgium), 1 artist and lute (the ud) from Morocco and 1 artist and lute (the p'ipa) from China. Their own compositions are an amalgam of these three influences, mixed with classical music and improvisations. Their second album, again recorded by Belgian classical radio station KLARA, features various guest musicians on saxophone and harmonica amongst other instruments. This creates an even wider sound spectrum. For the adventurous listers it is certainly recommended. First sacd release for Dutch world music record label Music & Words.
