Excellent Disc combining special written pieces by the composer of Star Wars fame, some lyrical deep thoughtfull and varied music with the World class playing of its dedicatee Yo Yo Ma.
Add Sonys remarkable recording quality and the Recording Arts Orchestra of Los Angles with the
composer conducting for its 67 minutes. all captured on what sounds like a pure DSD recording.
Easiest to adore are the beautiful Heartwood and the Elegy for cello and orchestra.
Balancing out the major work Cello Concerto which is in four movements,Theme,Blues,Scherzo and Song are three solo pieces, Rosewood,pickin and the Long road North which the booklet states have great technical demands.
