For Nektar fans out here, especially the ones who remember the Live In New York and More Live In New York albums, if you liked them you are going to want to get this. First of all the was remixed to 5.1 from the original tapes, where as the original albums sound was actually from the radio broadcast of the concert. The show itself was actually very well known to New Yorkers at the time,it happened at the Academy of Music on 9-28-1974. It was their first time in the Big Apple and they did not dissapoint. The played for 2 1/2 hours, and it was high quality stuff. They were really huge in the area during their heyday, and still have a loyal following to this day, much in part to this particular show. Back to the cd, the sound is excellent, the only thing wrong to my ears is that it is more of a quad recording than 5.1, there is not a whole lot happening in the center channel. But this is a monster upgrade to what came before, a must have for any fan of Nektar, especially New Yorkers.
