Really nice to listen to. Excellent multichannel SACD. Very nicely balanced en crispy detail.
Pink Panther theme has never sounded this good.

I own alot of sacd's. I heard a review recommending this Henry Mancini one and decided to try it. I sampled it on Amazon and liked what I heard.
Ohhhh boy. Was I shocked at the sound and performance of this sacd.
Concord music has made some wonderful sacd's with superb sonics before. But this one is really special.
While it is true that this was a re-recording from 2003 the sound quality and recording/ performance is simply amazing. Words like full bodied, lively and musical come to mind. As well are warm, alive and real too.
But heres where the magic happens. Everyone knows the pink panther theme.....its famous the world over. I promise you that you will never hear it sound this good. I play it for my friends and they completely freak out. Its that good. The musicians are not known to me but their talent sure is. And its a longer version to boot with solos for organ and flute. Simply......jaw droppingly amazing. Manicini himself could have recorded it.
Alot of his famous compositions are covered here and all are played with wonderful skill with the ambient sound of the 60's and 70's seeping through. Mancini's daughter sings on many tracks and her voice is very nice indeed.
IF only for the pink panther theme song.I cant recommend this sacd enough. And it's cheap too.

OUT OF THIS WORLD!!! amazing quality! absolutely stunning sound quality, it could not bring more pleasure if it included a head and shoulder massage.
Out of all the SACDs, so far this is the most incredible I have heard.

The Pink Panther theme does sound awesome! In face, this CD seems to be the 'quietest' CD in my carousel, meaning it retains all the dynamic range and is not 'loud' what-so-ever. And when I crank up the volume - it sounds awesome. There's deep, impacting bass, and full orchestra sound and feel.
I'm no expert on Mancini's music, but from what I hear so far is worth the price just for the Pink Panther and Peter Gun themes.
