The first thing I did was listen to my old standard cd, then the stereo version of the sacd. It's an all-around improvement, but the biggest thing I noticed was how much tighter the bass was. I have 2 Paradigm PDR-12 subs that I'll be replacing eventually because they're boomy and sloppy when playing music. With the sacd, I could actually tell which notes were being played on the low bass notes, and the bass drum didn't linger. I was impressed with the stereo version throughout the album, so I then listened to the multi-channel.
While listening to the first song, My Favourite Mistake, they added a couple of "Hooo"s between the first chorus and second verse. This may seem like no big deal, but I'm pretty familiar with the album and my immediate reaction was "What the *@#&? That's not on the original version!" I checked back with the stereo and then the standard cd again and I was correct. I find it extremely distracting to hear new things in a fimiliar song, or to be expecting something and have it removed. My Oasis - Morning Glory SACD had the same issues in the multi-channel mix and it's just plain annoying. I skimmed through the rest of the album and although the multi-channel sounded very natural and open, it also sounded pretty empty occasionally. At times they would do things like having the guitars coming from the surrounds, and it would leave the front sounding bare.
Conclusion: It's not the best sounding sacd I've heard, but it's definitely better than the standard cd. The (In my opinion) lousy multi-channel mix is the cause of the 3 star sonics rating. So stick with the stereo version and enjoy the music!
