This is excellent. It is the violin sonata that one buys this disc for; about 30 minutes of pure joy. The music is a mix of classical and early romantic and it is full of life. The notes leap from the piano as though enjoying their unexpected opportunity to be heard. A marvellous performance.
The violin is slightly forward of the piano but the balance between them is ideal and each is caught in a very natural and beautiful sound. Being extremely critical, I would have liked a little more separation of the instruments between the front speakers. The remaining works are not as good but are still well worth listening too.
I have owned this disc for over a year and it is one of my most enjoyable discs.
