I was originally put off by what I thought to be a "cheesy" cover; two grown men playing cowboys, but
I decided to pick up the CD when I saw it on sale. I was very pleasantly surprised by this album.
It is jazz with Jamaican grooves. The album also claims to have western themes (hence the cowboy
picture on the cover)although personally, I can hear more of the Jamaican influence. The instruments comming from the center speaker are a bit close miked, but overall very enjoyable in MC. I feel this
album goes well with the Spyro Gyra/Pieces of a Dream type of fusion Jazz music that Telrac and Heads Up(their subsidiary company)have been producing as SACD over the last couple of years. And again, the
album reminds of the range of musical influences that Jazz music can integrate successfully. Overall,
a very good buy, if you like Jazz fusion with a slow but steady groove with a bit of Jamaica thrown in; don't judge the album by its cover.
