This CD+SACD set give to you two discs(obvious), a regular CD and a single layer Stereo only SACD, time is full 75:04(as I like), both discs have the same repertoire (18 tracks).
The songs have the usual nice chinese pop treatment, they are not very romantic, and are not noisy or aggressive songs too, some tracks are chinese versions of western hits songs
as Careless Whispers, La Isla Bonita etc... The songs are compilations of Jenny Tseng albuns of 1984/85/86/87/89.
The first tune in sung in Mandarim, and the others in Cantonese (I suppose), her voice is very acute, powefull and beautiful, with no vibrato as usual in most Asian female singers,
the arrangements are well made and do not fail in delivery the beauty of the music. In overall a very listenable release, with a good price/time ratio value.
If you like the beauty and the refinement of the modern Chinese music as heard in Hong Kong, this SACD is a good option.
The booklet is beautiful and have the lyrics of all songs, but only in chinese as always, looks they think western people will no buy these SACDs at all.
The recording could have the treble more softer and airy, but it will not irritate your ears. If you want a non romantic songs disc, this SACD is for you.
The regular redbookCD disc is completely useless to me, save you can give it to someone who still listen Low Rez CDs.
