This album was inspired and spotlights the timeless ballads of Frank Sinatra, one of America's greatest singers. It features strings on a number of tracks, and the singer is backed by her trio of ten years, pianist Christian Jacob, bassist Trey Henry, and Ray Brinker on drums.

Tierney Sutton has been praised by crowds and many musicians for her wit and technically superior voice. There are several standout tracks, but I found the tempo just a bit slow.

The stereo sound has fine resolution, imaging, and dynamics. The soundstage has good depth but seems to be somewhat compressed towards the center horizontally. I don't know whether that's because of the performers being clustered towards the center or due to microphone placement.

She has such a wonderful voice and I would love to hear her sing some things that have an upbeat tempo and compositon that has some enjoyment and happy content.

I agree that the tempo is too slow and add that the emotional content is too unhappy for me.

I can't stress how much better this disc would have been had it had more about the enjoyment in life. There's nothing wrong with what she has done. Its all very pretty but there are just one or two selections that have a positive spin.

Its arguable that I've overstated my case but these are my overall impressions. Maybe these are just what they're supposed to be torch songs with a wistful appeal to those who want to experience these emotions.

No real complaints about the sonics. For the most part its clear, detailed, and interesting musically. The breathiness and diction of her phrasing is compelling. Definitely a strength of the disc.
