Vivaldi is one of my favorite composers of classical music. I own this SACD for over 2 years now and I used it, amongst others, to seek out my new homesystem. This performance is really good. Listening to it I feel the year pass by, hear the leafs fall and the wind blow. IMO there are a few little timing problems and once Massimo rushes just a bit too much. But I think it´s better like this than a sterile and straight performance.
The multichannel mix is done well and gives great ambiance. The orchestra is located clearly in front of you but not far away. Infact, they are so close I can hear Mr. Quarta breath in when some involving passages are made. Not a bit destracting, though.
PRO: Ambiance, good recording, beautiful piece CON: some may find the timing occasionally lacks
