Michael Feinstein's singing is lovely as usual. The arrangements are completely overblown and don't work. Most problematic is that the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra cannot swing. They sound like Russians playing jazz. That really does not work. There was a bitter sweet joke about something like this in Robin WIlliams' movie, Moscow on the Hudson, where a musician from Russia comes to the USA to try and make a career as a jazz player. Unfortunately, his concept of swing always sound like he is playing in a foreign language. Of course, the biggest problem are the bombastic arrangements that overwhelm the singer.
The sound quality of the disc is excellent.
