One of the ten tracks, Johnny Bug, is a Faddis original, the others are more or less known jazz compositions. From Ellington`s Sophisticated Lady to Gordon Jenkin`s Goodbye. The small big band line-up is varying throughout the record and the interpretations are gentle, slow or mid tempo, not spectacular but very intensive, deeply emotional, not smooth jazz or easy listening. Music that is capturing you for an over 67 minutes close listening session.
The sound is perfect, rich of colour, very good soundstage and imaging, air for the instruments to breath, very dynamic, brilliant.

This is night time jazz. It's very relaxing and wonderfully recorded. John Faddis is very restrained here. It's recorded in a church and as such I took a little time getting used to the unique sound and ambiance this sacd has.

All the songs are mostly of a mellow nature and have great musicianship behind them. Again because of the venue it was recorded in the layering of the instruments is rather unique. You have to hear it for yourself to understand what I mean.

Highly recommended. Great jazz music of a relaxing nature with some slow songs and others more rhythmic.
