Performance:   Sonics:
This is a singer you simply have to like if you like Ella Fitzgerald. She has a low , sometimes sensual sound. The recording is live in the famous prestigious jazz club Ronnie Scott's . It is not clear if this is a real DSD recording. I think it's not because it is mixed by Mike Butcher in Holland and mastered at galaxy reference studio at Belgium. Because mixing is difficult in DSD format it is problably a normal 44.1 khz pcm recording because no special signs of high resolution recording or something.
The question is if all this is a problem. The sound is very good. The live experience is complete although this cd will not knock you down with instruments which come out of the speaker. Althought all the instrument are clearly recorded the focus is on the voice. The voice of Laura clear and detailed in this recording.

But enough quality in the voice of Laura to enjoy this sacd a lot. Very musical.
When Laura sings very famous songs like ' don't it make my brown eyes blue' and 'for me formidable , my first reaction is; don't touch these songs they are already perfect sung by Crystal Gayle and Charles Aznavour. ' You can only spoil this'

But it was a surprise for me to hear how wunderful Laura Fygi sings these songs. she uses her voice very good. enought surprise in the singing to hear this cd a lot of times, it will not bore me.

This cd is highly recommended.
