This is my second sacd from Venus record and from Steve Kuhn Trio.I was amazed by "Love walked in",wich was only mastered in DSD."Plays Standards" is mixed and mastered in DSD and the sound is fabulous.One thing you notice at first with Venus is the bass.It is great in power and precision ... the mid and high are clear as crystal.the sound stage is large.We are near perfect with Venus record,they did a great job with these SACD!
The music is a mix of mid tempo and ballads,all standards except a composition by Steve Kuhn "Ocean in the sky".Steve is joined by The great Al Foster on drums:(i love his ride cymbal touch!),and one of my favourite bass player:MR Buster williams!
So you have here a great trio playing great music with a fabulous sound. Thank you Venus records!
