The three suites on this disc contain some wonderfully descriptive music. This isn't highbrow listening, but is a collection of easy to listen to short pieces that often sound like film music. This is one of the first SACDs I bought and I still love it. Feeder did this album not long after their drummers suicide, as you might expect this leads to a deeper more introspective feel than their previous material. However they have produced an album more about lifting yourself out of sadness ... more |

The main feature on this disc for most people will be the Sibelius - Violin Concerto in D minor. I used a Karajan - Berlin Philharmonic recording for comparison. Agree wholeheartedly with jdaniel@jps.net so just want to add about the Multichannel version. This is astounding and took away my worries that cheaper label SACDs might not be all that they could be.
