I will not compare this disc with any other performances and say that A is better than B. This particular disc has a charm -- several charms -- of its own, which one will simply never find elsewhere. A brief note on these two discs -- but maybe longer than a DeSelby. The Beethoven Variations always give me joy -- which, all things considered, isn't the worst reason for buying yet another disc.
