This is a quite mediocre SACD release, from the early set Sony crapped out as part of the format introduction. You want the recent MoFi CD remaster instead.

Love the album, but one of the worst SACD releases ever. It doesn't sound even remotely as good as the MoFi CD release that came out before it, and it barely an upgrade over the regular CD release.

This is an obvious rush-job from Sony done with no attention to detail or the original master tapes, as part of their first big set of SACD releases. It's an upgrade from the terrible first CD release of this album, but is not noticeably better than any of the subsequent CD remasters.

The stereo SACD version here is the best sounding stereo version of this album available. You can certainly hear where you're being limited by the quality of the master tapes though. Listen to how the loud parts in "Us and Them" just smack up against what they could get onto the tape; it's almost ... more

I feel that this release, the last from Gabriel before his shift to digital on "So", had the best sound quality of any of the SACDs in this series.
