The clarity of both the stereo and surround mixes are excellent. If only this were the quality of output on all rock/pop SACDs. I am only a marginal EJ fan, but the quality of this recording enticed me to purchased all of his SACD catalog.

This is an improvement over the MFSL redbook (which IMHO was the best release to date). The surround mix is not one of my favorites, but it has its moments.
The best surround cut on this is "Let It Grow," where George Harrison's guitar and voice are clearer than ever. The edit is unchanged and EC's ... more |

I have also owned multiple copies of this 70's mega-hit. The multi-channel mix seems overly bright to my ears and the bass is downplayed. I made adjustments to my sub mix to semi-fix the latter problem and it was more listenable.
The best solution seemed to be the stereo mix. |
