Very diverged opinions on this one. I had the remaster cd and have compared. This shm-sacd sounds better. This disc has always sounded a bit withdrawn and flat, like the music and instruments do not come forward, tame drums and and bass, polite is the correct word. The sound does not pop out. This shm-sacd has poor sound. I can not understand the other reviewers that says this is good, and better than the old sacd. It is not. The old sacd sounds much better with better details, more clarity, better dynamics and more life. The shm-sacd sounds dull and flat. If thats the sound you prefer, ... more |

I just got the brand new Sony Legacy version of this album. Holy crap, what s difference in sound. The Mofi is a disaster compared. From the Ron Tutt drumming intro, it is clear that all clarity, sparkle, dynamics, bass, etc, is compleatly LOST on the Mofi. The Sony is so much better sounding that I ... more |

I most often agree with "Analogue", but on this one i beg to differ. The previous sacd is simply far better in every area. This shm-sacd sounds flat and veiled. Great album with great sound. It betters the previous remaster with better fuller bass, more punch, the drums sound more alive and kicking, better clarity and instrument separation and better treble.
