Having just received this disc I was quite disappointed with a first spinning. The two symphonies were recorded in different locations by different recording teams some 4 years apart and it certainly shows. The later recording of the 3rd shows a much more controlled and measured approach to Brahms ... more |

Superlative playing, inspirational in it's subtlety of colours and nuances, cellos are achingly beautiful. Excellent conducting, sensual, finely articulated, precise, flawless. Truly class-leading recording. The best of any Exton that I've heard and a fine testament to DSD. ... more |
