Lots of air here. As usual Concord have mixed a very discrete and active use of sides. One of the best jazz recordings I have in this format. Think Matt Bianco or Herbie Hancock's Gerswin's World. A must have. |

I am sure that there was a mistake made in mastering of this one. It has no sound stage. Lacks crisp hits on the snare, everything is reduced to a veiled image that is hardly recognisable as even stereo, very little separation. I have the Japan SHMCD and the redbook CD. I think the last review is totally misleading. It does not resemble the Cure. I do not like the Cure that much. This is an outstanding release and I wish I had bought it earlier. Great sonics. Some wonderful low rumbling bass for added atmosphere on some tracks. A couple of extra tracks on the CD ... more |
