I must say I don't get all the 5-star reviews of the sonics. I have to agree with those who gave poor sonic reviews. The cannons actually clip; that's why there is no bass energy in them. They simply exceed the amplitude limits of the digital format, so all that is left is a weak click where there ... more |

Firstly: who the heck is that one person out of 20 (at the time of writing) who voted NOT to recommend this remastered masterpiece?! Sheesh!

The music here is not simply "straight-ahead hard bop" as suggested by Claude. This is mostly "soul jazz" - jazz with a heavy soul (and R 'n B) bent - although there are a couple of numbers played in the hard bop style as well.
