Are there two different mixes of this SACD? Well I own the one with the extra DVD but the reviews of the other SACD release with regards to poor sonics are at odds to what I have experienced.

This is a live concert conducted by Mr Gorecki himself. In fact, it is the only available performance I know of, which Gorecki conducts. WHAT A MISSED OPPERTUNITY. Frankly someone at Epic should be fired. Of all the SACD's I have purchased this has been the biggest let down. The sound is good but not much better, if at all, than the recent remaster of the standard cd. I wonder if they actually had access to the original master tapes ... more |

This is beautifully played and the recording is superb as usual from Linn. I can't make a comparison to another recording as I don't have one.
