I have not previously had Carmina Burana in my otherwise extensive CD collection. I bought this based on previous posters' reviews. I must agree that the sonics are exceptional. This disc will join my favorite SACD albums. My reference recording of the Eighth Symphony is Dohnanyi/Cleveland on London and for the Ninth is Harnoncourt/Concertgebouw on Teldec DVD-Audio. I put both performances on par with both of these.

I thoroughly enjoy this SACD. Hahn's performance is technically dazzling and flawless. She plays with stunning confidence and perfect intonation. The tempi ARE fast but create a wonderful energy in this music. The orchestra and soloist are in perfect agreement.
