The surround mix is just the DVD-A surround mix, converted to DSD. Since the DVD-A is out of print, this is good for those who didn't grab it the first time around (though the SACD lacks the *stunning* DVD-A bonus track surround mix of 'Lucky Man'). Actually no one who wasn't in the control room in Japan can know whether the sound of this disc is due to it being DSD, or simply to it being remastered, period. But it does sound quite nice. So did the old CD. |

Much better sound here on Le Sacre, than on the previous , rather veiled, CD reissues of this
performance. And it's great to finally have this performance of the Firebird Suite available again

I love this record, period. Having it in multichannel makes it all the more fun.
(I prefer the performance of the 5th to that of the 7th, though; for me, the definitive
7th is the one Bruno Walter recorded for Columbia.)
