I loved this modern sounding reading of the first symphony, eschewing too much sentimentality. Sound is rich and natural, with tremendous bass sound. I don't understand the difference between 5.0 and 5.1 sound since this 5.0 recording still opens my subwoofer - with thrilling results. I look forward ...

I have this on the DVD-Audio version, and the sound is stupendous. I have used it as a demonstration to friends of the potential of surround sound. Wonderful rich, punchy sound, tremendous bass and climaxes. The performance is rivetting too.
