A must! The performances on this disc have been lauded ever since they were first issued back in the 1960's. The sound is unbelievably better than some of the early issues. An excellent performance of the Eroica--and the overtures, as well. I originally bought this one on Epic mono, when I was a kid. Since then there have been other contenders for my favorite. The orchestral playing is fabuluous as in most of Szell's renditions. The sound on this one is the ... more

A Must! I was pleasantly surprised by this disc which I purchased without knowing anything about the performances. Superb playing of these warhorses.
